We recently caught up with Joël when he was in Tel Aviv hosting IE Professor Miguel Otero-Iglesias for a talk on US-China relations, an event for potential candidates and IE alumni, to talk about another special opportunity available at IE: the IE Global Admissions Test (also referred to as the “ieGAT”). Something special about the admissions process for IE Business School’s MBA program is that in addition to accepting the standard GMAT or GRE admissions test as part of the overall application, candidates to IE also have the opportunity to alternatively write the ieGAT. Joël said that while having a standard quantitative metric that can be used to compare profiles is important when building the class profile, the admissions test result is only one small aspect of the overall application and so IE is open to any of the three admissions test options. The added plus is that there is no added fee for the ieGAT, and the Admissions Department at IE considers all three results equally valid.  But don’t think it’s an easy way out as the ieGAT content both mirrors that of the GMAT and the ieGAT is a timed test!
